6. Stuffing
Not what you eat at Thanksgiving, polyfil or quilt batting.
I use quilt batting to create the shape of my doll before I make a pattern, but you can also make a pattern first and loosely stuff the doll after. Check out BubblyLeaf on Youtube if you want to see what I mean.
I start with quilt batting, cutting it into strips and wrapping it around the armature like a mummy. You do not have to secure the stuffing with glue, it does sort of grip itself, but I choose to glue because I like my dolls to have detailed anatomy that will stay in place over tim
